I tried Tony Little’s Gazelle Edge Elliptical for a year, and I lost 56 pounds. That’s how I fell in love with fitness, and now I’m a certified trainer. The Gazelle Edge Elliptical is the best piece of equipment you can have at home to shed extra pounds, especially if you’re a beginner or recovering from an injury.
I want to show you exactly how you can kickstart your fitness journey, just as I did, with this unique elliptical, which, unlike others, it has a greater range of motion.
This in-depth Tony Little Gazelle Edge review will cover all you need to know about this machine, so you can make an informed and intentional purchase. The pros, the cons, the features, and even some tips to get the best of this machine.
In-Depth Features
The Gazelle Edge is swift and easy to assemble, which is a must as I’m not very handy with machines. However, be mindful that some of the Gazelle parts are pre-lubricated, so make sure to protect your floor before assembly. You don’t even need tools to assemble the elliptical, only a pair of wrenches provided with the engine!
I have had quite a few exercise machines at home, from stationary bikes to treadmills and other ellipticals. And one thing that always bothered me is that whenever I got tired of it, I had to get rid of it. As I live in a pretty small house, I don’t own that much storage space.

I wanted to get something that I could exercise with and store away in the closet or under the bed. With the gazelle, you can simply fold it, put it under your bed, and forget it even exists!
Another great thing about this exercise machine is its value. The Tony Little Gazelle Edge is much cheaper than other similar devices. Now you may be wondering:
How about the quality? Well, let me tell you something when I first tried, I was blown away by this low price elliptical caliber. Chinese-built products are not precisely known for their quality, but the Gazelle Edge really surprised me there! I’ve been using it for over two years, and to be fair, apart from a few scratches, I have nothing to complain about!
The Gazelle Edge is made out of A-grade material, a half-inch steel pipe for the support, pipes for the handles, and the swing portion’s front legs. The construction is pretty solid; you can see that everything’s welded real good, and they got covers and end caps for all the metal tubing.
The computer that measures distance, calories burnt, and time is pretty basic, but it does its job. You don’t need a lot of features for this portion. What matters is that you finish your workout according to your regime whenever you step onto the machine. I’ll be giving you a few tips that helped me and that now help my clients too.
One of the features that surprised me the most is the considerable motion range. Even fancy machines you can find at high-end gyms don’t offer such a scope of motion, and as a personal trainer, I can assure you that the greater the range, the better results.
Your muscles need to work more with a larger motion range, and your flexibility will improve over time. While working out, your muscles will be lengthened through the wide motions you’ll be performing. You’ll experience the right level of resistance while going back to a neutral position. This explains why the Gazelle does such great work to activate your inner thighs, your quads, hamstrings, and your glutes.
Pros
- Range of motion:
If you’d ask me what’s the most essential Gazelle Edge review, I’d say it has a great range of motion offered by the Patented dual-action split suspension. Better than other (and more expensive) machines! This is great for improving muscle toning, working flexibility, and mobility. - Low-impact:
I suffer from bad knees; I have a patellofemoral syndrome, which does not allow me to perform high-impact exercises. This exercise machine is great for people with knee problems, joint pain, older people, overweight people, and people with reduced mobility.
Over time and as you lose weight, you’ll see that not only does it not hurt to work out, but you’ll feel better. If you have bad knees, weighting less is an excellent way to reduce stress on your joints. - Train from the comfort of your home:
If there’s something I love and, over the years, have found extremely beneficial for weight loss, it’s morning cardio. I live in a cold area; there’s no way I’m going out for a walk or a jog! The Tony Little Gazelle has been a staple piece in my morning routine; 20-30 minutes to start the day and kick off your metabolism has been proven repeatedly by dozens of studies to be very beneficial to burn fat.
Besides, the coolest thing about working out from home is that you can watch Netflix or listen to your favorite podcast while working out! I love this machine because thanks to it, I could watch Game Of Thrones while shredding off extra fat! - It targets the whole body:
If you know how to use it, it targets all muscles, from forearms to biceps and triceps, abs, obliques, shoulders, and your entire legs and glutes. Make sure to check the DVD that comes with it to learn how to use it to target your body’s different areas!
Cons
- It squeaks a little after using it for a few weeks, but not that much. To be fair, you won’t even hear it if you’re listening to music or watching TV. Besides, if you oil it now and then, you should be fine!
- The size of the bottle holder is too small for my 2-liter bottle. I like to drink lots of water, so I’ve purchased a big BPA free bottle, which unfortunately does not fit in the cupholder. I need to place it somewhere else. However, a standard 1-liter bottle will fit in perfectly.
Technical Specs
- The computer provides immediate feedback on speed, distance, time, and calories.
- Made of 1 and a half inch gauge steel, the Gazelle Edge weight limit is 250 pounds.
- The handlebars are covered with high-density foam.
- It’s easy to fold quickly.
