If you are looking for the very best portable soccer goal, period, the Pro Training Soccer goal is likely to win your heart.

This soccer goal’s highlight is the durable yet lightweight frame crafted of aluminum. Aluminum is tough and resistant to rust, so the Pro Training Soccer goal should serve you for the years to come.

Available in 3 sizes – 6.5 x 18.5 feet (regulation youth), 7.2 x 18 feet, and 8 x 24 feet (regulation adult) – the Pro Training Soccer goal should also be a fantastic option for most soccer players.

The Pro Training Soccer goal is foldable as well to make setup easier. GOLME advertises that the goals need just about 3 minutes for setup.

This folding soccer goal weighs just 30 pounds as well, so it’s relatively easy to move around. GOLME includes a carry bag with the goal too.

The price tag of the GOLME Pro Training Soccer goal is quite eye-popping, though – this is one the most expensive goals on my top. But if you need a high-quality regulation-size soccer goal, you will probably struggle to find anything better.

Pros

  • Three sizes available, including regulation youth and regulation adult.
  • Made of tough and light aluminum.
  • Folding, quick-assemble design.
  • 30-day money-back guarantee.

Cons

  • Expensive.

The GOLME PRO Pop Up Soccer Goal is entirely different from the Pro Training Goal. Pop Up Soccer Goal is intended for more casual use and was designed with children in mind.

What particularly sets the Pop Up Soccer Goal and its bigger brother apart is size and weight. The Pop Up Soccer Goal is sized from 2.5 to 6 feet in width, making it excellent for children. Additionally, this soccer goal occupies very little space, whether in storage or unfolded and ready for use.

The Pop Up Soccer Goal is remarkably light as well – just about 3 pounds – and can be effortlessly handled by children.

Assembly is relatively easy, too, taking just 3 seconds, according to GOLME. To get started with this goal, you just need to take it out of the storage bag, open it up, and place it in the play area. The goal is held in place by a pair of plastic stakes (which are quite fragile, by the way).

The PRO Pop Up Soccer Goal is very inexpensive as well, and a single pack includes a pair of goals. With that, this goal two-pack should work great for soccer parties!

All this makes the PRO Pop Up Soccer Goal a wonderful choice for parents looking to interest their kids in soccer. You could use this goal for practice as well, though, for that purpose, I think that a regulation-size goal would work much better.

Pros

  • Excellent for children.
  • Very inexpensive.
  • Includes two goals.
  • Available in three sizes.
  • Very light and compact.
  • Easy to assemble.

Cons

  • The included plastic stakes are rather flimsy.

Unlike many of my other picks on this list, the Q-Fold soccer goal is made of PVC plastic. PVC certainly isn’t as rigid as steel or aluminum, but it does noticeably lower this thing’s price.

Despite its relative delicacy, the PVC frame does not rust or corrode, and it’s also made UV-resistant. The soccer goal net is also UV-resistant, so it should not fade or degrade from the sun. Thanks to the so-called flexi-joint, the stress on the diagonal poles supporting the goal is reduced as well.

The Q-Fold goal is rather easy to assemble too. Out of the box, it’ll take about 15 to 20 minutes to get the goal up and ready. The net clips and the spring-button frame joints make the setup not too challenging.

After that, there is no need to fully disassemble the goal for storage. You may fold and unfold the goal when needed – this takes just about 30 seconds.

The Q-Fold soccer goal is rather inexpensive, which is why it offers remarkable value. There also are four sizes available – all the dimensions are small and far from being regulation-compliant, but it’s still nice that you have options.

Pros

  • Rather inexpensive for what it is.
  • Weatherproof.
  • Folding, quick-setup frame.
  • Several size options.

Cons

  • Not as tough and durable as aluminum or steel goals.

If you are looking to practice solo, this goal from Lanos may work for your needs.

The highlight of the Lanos soccer goal is the rebounder net – unlike regular nets, it’s designed to not only stop the ball but also send it back to you. This allows you to spend less time retrieving the ball and focus more on your drills.

The Lanos goal is very easy to assemble as well – it comes with the poles pre-connected, leaving minimal work for you to do. Lanos includes four stakes for added stability too.

This portable goal is also very light and easy to carry – it conveniently collapses into the provided storage bag.

Lanos doesn’t ask for much money for this goal, so it shouldn’t hit your budget hard.

Compared to more traditional folding soccer goals – those that resemble real soccer goals – this thing probably isn’t the best if you want a more real-world experience. More importantly, the Lanos goal won’t let you get used to the dimensions of a real goal.

But as far as practicing shots is concerned, it’s hard to find something more convenient and time-saving.

Pros

  • Pocket-friendly.
  • The rebounder net makes solo practice very easy.
  • Very easy to assemble.
  • Light and easy to carry.

Cons

  • Not a replacement for a standard soccer goal.

  • Includes goal netting, powder coated steel frame,...

The GOLME Pro Training goal was an excellent choice all-around, and it’s arguably the best portable goal you can find out there for professional training. But for recreational play, you may want to consider this goal from Bownet.

Sized at 6 x 12 feet, this goal is much smaller than any of the GOLME Pro Training goals. This would be a problem if you wanted to train with a life-sized soccer goal, but for recreational games within limited space, the more compact Bownet goal is a far better purchase.

Aside from the size, what also sets this portable goal apart from others is E.A.S. (Energy Absorption System). E.A.S. is intended to distribute the ball’s energy evenly, reducing stress and prolonging the life of the goal.

The telescopic powder-coated steel frame is solid and doesn’t rust, chip, or fade as well.

What I also like about this Bownet goal is its orange accents – they make no difference for the goal’s quality or performance, but they do make the goal stand out visually.

The Bownet portable goal hits the wallet a bit hard, unfortunately. But if money is no object for you, you probably won’t find anything better for recreational play.

Pros

  • Excellent for recreational use.
  • Very durable and long-living frame.
  • Tool-less assembly.
  • Attractive orange accents.

Cons

  • Hits the wallet hard.

The Bownet BOW3X5 Soccer Mini-Goal could work wonderfully for children, especially those who are a little mischievous.

Remarkably, the BOW3X5 Soccer Mini Goal is much tougher than its tiny body suggests. This portable goal is built around a powder-coated steel frame – just like the previous Bownet goal.

Thanks to the E.A.S. system – the same one as in the previous Bownet goal – this mini portable goal is also stable and boasts more longevity than similar goals.

What may repel some parents in this goal is its price – although you are getting good value for the buck, the same amount of money could buy you a much larger goal. But if you care more about durability, the Bownet BOW3X5 Mini-Goal should work fine.

Pros

  • Great for kids.
  • Durable.
  • The powder-coated frame doesn’t rust.
  • Attractive design.

Cons

  • Pricey.

7. GoSports Portable Pop-Up Soccer Goal - Best Goal For Younger Children

  • MUST HAVE FOR PLAYERS & COACHES: Perfect soccer...

The GoSports pop-up soccer goal is a lot like the GOLME Pop Up goal on the #2 spot, but it’s perhaps a better choice for younger children (I’d guess no older than 8). The particular goal I based this review on was sized at 4 feet, but you should find other sizes too.

The reason for this is that the GoSports soccer goal comes with six cones. This perhaps isn’t that big of a deal since you can find cones yourself, but if you were going to buy them anyway, why not get everything with one purchase?

The GoSports soccer goal also has four stakes, whereas the GOLME goal had 3. This could somewhat improve stability, but for children, the difference may not be that big.

Other than that, the GoSports goal is more or less identical to the GOLME goal. If the cones and the other stake matter to you, then go for it. Its small size would work for younger children better as well.

Pros

  • Will work fabulously for younger children (up to 8 years old, if I were to guess).
  • Not too expensive.
  • Super-light and compact.
  • Comes with two goals and six cones.

Cons

  • Flimsy stakes.

8. Kickmaster Quick Up Goal And Target Shot - Best Goal For Kids’ Practice

Kickmaster Quick Up Goal and Target Shot
299 Reviews
Kickmaster Quick Up Goal and Target Shot
  • Strong and Portable
  • Inbuilt target shot
  • Anchor pegs included
  • Includes carry bag for easy transportation
  • Assembled size - W106cm x H76cm x D76cm

The Kickmaster Quick Up Goal makes accuracy training easy via the integrated targets. Thanks to its compact size (about 3.42 x 2.5 feet), it’s also a great fit for children.

With four corners and one central target, the Quick Up Goal helps children practice aimed shots. Given how frequently soccer players have to shoot for the corners, starting improving aim early on is really important. The Kickmaster goal will help your kid with that.

This target goal is built pretty nicely, though I wouldn’t call it very durable. One powerful shot from an older kid will probably rip it apart – then again, this isn’t a downside since the goal is intended for younger kids anyway.

In the end, if you want to set the foundation for accuracy in your children early, this portable goal is an excellent option.

Pros

  • A super-nice choice for kids.
  • Affordable.
  • Small and lightweight.
  • Built-in targets for practice.

Cons

  • Flimsy.
  • Definitely not for older children (perhaps not older than 8-10?).

9. Lifetime Adjustable Soccer Goal - Best Portable Goal For Multiple Users

  • Heavy duty nylon net
  • Convenient folding design for storage and...
  • 90-Day limited ; includes heavy-duty net, 5 anchor...

The highlight of the Lifetime soccer goal is the adjustable width and height. This makes the goal an excellent option for multiple users with different needs.

This goal’s width adjusts to 4, 6, or 7 feet, whereas the height goes to 3, 4, or 5 feet. With that, this again is a kids’ soccer goal, although adults may also be able to use it on a recreational level.

Thanks to its adjustability, the Lifetime goal is great for parents of several children of different ages. Alternatively, if you have one young kid, you will be able to adapt the goal to their needs as they grow. Though eventually, children will inevitably grow out of this thing – the goal is rather small.

The Lifetime portable soccer goal also features a powder-coated steel frame. The heavy-duty nylon net should serve children for years, while the 5-year warranty should cover you if something breaks.

One thing to keep in mind with this goal’s adjustability is that it may imply stability issues. But if you are precisely looking for an adjustable soccer goal, the Lifetime goal should tick all your boxes.

Pros

  • Durable powder-coated steel frame.
  • Foldable design.
  • Adjustable width and height.
  • Rather compact.

Cons

  • May be less sturdy than other comparable nets due to its adjustability.

10. Amazon Basics Soccer Goal - Best Goal For Low Budgets

  • Includes ground anchors to secure the goal in...
  • 144 x 72 x 60 inches (WxDxH); weighs 34.1 pounds

Let’s close my top 10 with this soccer goal from Amazon Basics. Amazon Basics products are generally prized for their good quality at a reasonable price, and this portable goal is no exception. It certainly isn’t as high-quality as some other goals on this list, but it provides insane value.

The Amazon Basics soccer goal is super-simple – it doesn’t have a folding frame or patented technologies like Bownet’s E.A.S. On one hand, this fact makes the goal less convenient and perhaps less durable – on the other, it helps cut costs and lower the price.

Despite the unremarkable design, this soccer goal features a sturdy powder-coated steel frame along with a pretty solid net. The net is easily attached to the frame by Velcro straps, though I’m not sure about how the Velcro will hold up with time.

What I also like about the Amazon Basics soccer goal is its size – 12 by 5 feet is a good size both for adults and children. Though, of course, it’s far from the dimensions required by regulations.

As final words, if you don’t need anything fancy in a soccer goal, then the Amazon Basics goal will strike you with its quality to price ratio.

Pros

  • Really inexpensive for what it offers.
  • Weather-resistant powder-coated steel frame.
  • Good both for children and adults.
  • The nets are easily attached thanks to the Velcro straps.

Cons

  • Not foldable.

My Buying Guide For Portable Soccer Goals

Shopping for a portable soccer goal isn’t too tricky – still, I would like to give you some tips in my buyer’s guide.

Frame material

Portable soccer goals are usually made of one of these materials:

  • Plastic.
  • Aluminum.
  • Steel.

Plastic goals are the cheapest, weigh very little, and do not corrode. However, strong winds could carry a plastic goal away, and frames not protected from UV radiation will fade and break down if exposed to the sun for too long.

Aluminum is arguably the best material for a portable soccer goal. Aluminum goals strike a balance between strength and weight and are resistant to rust. However, a powerful impact from the ball could tip a lightweight aluminum goal over.

Finally, we have steel. Steel is very strong and practically indestructible (as long as we are talking about soccer). However, steel goals are heavy and not resistant to corrosion unless powder-coated or galvanized.

Size and shape

Portable soccer goals are available in different shapes and sizes. What to choose depends on these factors:

  • What you are buying a goal for.
  • How much space you have for storage.

If you are training professionally, you should undoubtedly get a regulation-size soccer goal. This would allow you to train your shots or practice your goalkeeping skills more faithfully.

In case you are competing, storage space will likely be of little concern to you, although it definitely should not be neglected.

If you want a soccer goal just to have fun, then you don’t necessarily need a regulation-size goal. Instead, look for something that would better suit your available space and budget.

If you aren’t sure how big your soccer goal should be, here’s a chart to help you;

AgeField Size (yards, W x L)Goal Size (feet, H x W)
6 to 715 x 204 x 6
830 x 506.5 x 12
935 x 506.5 x 18.5
10 to 13From 45 x 55 to 70 x 806.5 x 18 or 7 x 21
13 and upFrom 50 x 100 to 80 x 1208 x 24

Goal depth

Goal depth may or may not be important to you depending on whether you are competing professionally. Because if you are, you would want to get a goal that resembles actual competition goals as closely as possible.

When it comes to goal depth, there are three kinds of goals out there:

  • Goals without depth. These goals have a single top crossbar so that the net hangs at an about 45-degree angle to the ground. Depth-less goals are typically lighter and more portable than other styles.
  • Goals with depth. Goals with depth have an additional pair of horizontal bars protruding backward from the top crossbar and then going toward the goal’s base at a 45-degree angle. So from the side, the goal looks like a trapezoid. This design allows for more room inside the goal, preventing interference from the net.
  • Box goals. Box goals have 90-degree sides, allowing for plenty of space inside the goal. These goals are typically used in professional soccer clubs and events.

Ease of assembly

How quick and easy is your soccer goal’s assembly?

Most portable soccer goals need assembly only once – after you take them out of the package. Once the goal is assembled, it may be folded and unfolded as necessary.

However, some goals aren’t foldable and may require that you fully or partially break them down for storage.

If you don’t intend to move the goal around often, then the ease of assembly is perhaps not that important. But if you’re expecting to move the goal often, then certainly invest in a collapsible soccer goal.

Goal weight

Goal weight is a fairly tricky thing because it’s a double-edged sword.

On the one hand, a lighter goal is more comfortable to move around. On the other, a heavier goal is more difficult to tip over and resists wind and powerful shots better.

I’d say go for a heavier goal as long as its other features – size, material, and shape – work for you. However, if you are looking for a soccer goal for a young child, you could go lighter. Kids may struggle to move heavier goals, and they probably don’t have enough kick force to tip a goal over.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best portable soccer goal?

I think the GOLME Pro Training Soccer Goal is the very best option you can find. This goal is available in youth and adult regulation sizes, has excellent quality, assembles quickly, and is made of weather-resistant aluminum.

This particular soccer goal is a bit on the more expensive side, but it’s totally worth it if you have the money.

What is the size of a soccer goal?

Various governing bodies have their own definitions of a “proper” soccer goal size. If you are competing under a particular school or association, you should check out their regulations.

In adult associations (age 12 and up), the soccer goal dimensions are typically 8 feet tall and 24 feet wide. Youth goals may be from 4 x 6 to 7 x 21 feet.

What size soccer goal should I buy?

If you are competing professionally, you should ideally buy a soccer goal compliant with your association’s or college’s regulations. Look up rules to find out the correct size for a goal.

Soccer goal size should also be chosen based on the field’s size and the players’ age. Look up the chart above for more info.

Last Advice - Don’t Go Too Cheap

As a last piece of advice, I’d like to recommend you to avoid very cheap goals. If that’s the only thing you can afford, then fine, but if your pocket allows, get something with better quality. Expensive goals are more sturdy and will serve you longer.

If you have experience with any of the reviewed goals or want to propose another one for review, let me know in the comments below!
